Wow level squish6/12/2023 ![]() ![]() In fact, there is going to be even less concern by Blizzard about this as time progresses due to Classic and the upcoming Classic TBC.īlizzard posted today's colossal 10.1.5 PTR notes. Blizzard has done quite well in providing ways to accommodate twinks over the years, given that it was an unintended aspect of the game, and not really in line with a game that needs to adapt over time when the entire focus of your play style is to remain at a fixed point. ![]() ![]() This isn't the first time twinks have been a casualty of a squish though, it's just the first level squish so the effects are a bit more profound. I dont make pvp twinks anymore tho, i usually make twinks for farming or boosting, in legion i had this druid for dungeon boosting and a 101 DH for old dungeons farming cause he had 234% movement speed, and in BFA i had a 111 speed warrior for tmog farming with 220% movement speed and a 111 warlock for island farming (first ever 111 twink to get neck level 80) its a part of the game that i enjoy a lot, but blizzard ruins the characters ever exp and its very sad. Albinofreaken also talked about his general reason/passion for twinks in general, explaining how it's a bit of a bummer that they're not as they used to be: And so when the game squished the levels the poor owl became level 40, but the items went to 45 due to their high item level!Īnd so the Druid twink has become one of the casualties of the squish, as he can't ever be that 101 with incredible gear again, and even if he does level to 45. The own even went so far as to use cloth items due to their higher item level. So how did this happen? Well, the Druid in question was a twink back in Legion, and was using max level epic gear (around 840++, depending on war/titanforging) on a character that just started Legion (was level 101 with the expansion cap was 110). This happened to Albinofreaken on a Boomkin, but the reason for it actually kind-of-sort-of makes sense. Logging in to an old character and finding out literally all their gear now has a significantly higher level requirement than the character's squished level. So what is the worst outcome of the level squish? We've seen many examples of the pre-patch level squish acting weirdly and bugging out, but now we have probably the worst outcome of it, and one that isn't necessarily unintended. ![]()
